Even as a fellow, Manfred Landig was known not to just be content with the state of affairs. Constantly driven by a strong will and entrepreneurial spirit, he consistently worked on new ideas, even during his years as an apprentice. The development of innovative niche products, especially awakened his enthusiasm.
Thus, in 1982 the only logical consequence came to light. As a manufacturer of quality refrigeration and electrical devices, Manfred Landig establishes his company of the same name in Bad Saulgau of the Baden-Würtemberg state, which focuses on building refrigerators and special equipment for the gastronomic and hunting sectors. Thereby the basis is laid for a traditional company in the tranquil small town of Swabia (Southern Germany), which causes meat connoisseurs to swoon all over the world.
His inventive nature continues to fuel the founder, leading him to broaden his activities to address the entire issue of food packaging and processing together with his two sons Aaron and Christian Landig.
This results in the production of vacuum sealers, Sous-Vide units as well as small electronic appliances and accessories for meat processing. Landig’s newest coup: DRYAGER™ – the professional meat aging cabinet. With it, Manfred Landig’s sons, Aaron and Christian established a new milestone on the road to an exceptional flavor of meat and for production of phenomenal dry-aged beef, pork and ham.
As enthusiastic home chefs and meat grilling fans, the brothers launch their first prototype in 2013. Despite various setbacks and new starts, the brothers’ strong wills enable them to stay persistent and hold on to their idea of constructing a meat ager, that operates as well as it looks. With the help of two butchers and a food lab, they succeed in setting new standards in design and technology with DRYAGER™ meat cabinets at a price, that makes it extremely lucrative for professionals and completely affordable for private customers.
1982
ESTABLISHMENT
Even as a fellow, Manfred Landig was known for not being satisfied with the current state of affairs and lives up to the state of Baden-Württemberg’s reputation of being an inventor state. Hence, after his apprenticeship, he establishes a sole proprietorship of the same name. Due to a high standard of quality and a very good customer service, his small business with only a few employees quickly gained itself a good reputation along with regional and inter-regional admiration.
1983
COOLING DEVICES FOR GAME
As a hunter and manufacturer of quality refrigeration devices, Manfred Landig develops his first refrigerators for cooling game in the early 80ies. Cooling meat is the most important subject from the get-go, one to undergo continuous development and expansion. The company invests in new tools and internal containers as well as unique technical systems. Today, the family company Landig is the leading manufacturer in this sector, with distribution and service partners in almost every european country.
1990
REFRIGERATION UNITS
Unpack, plug in -finished! This was the original idea behind the in-house refrigeration unit series, which could be used for both refrigeration cells and cold-storage rooms. In addition to cooling meat, the devices refrigerate a variety of foods, wine and much more. The speciality of the Landig product-line, for which development process began back in 1985, is it’s external stainless steel casing, it’s vapor-free interior as well as it’s excellent price-performance ratio.
1995
MEAT PROCESSING
The logical step that comes after cooling, is the processing technique. This is precisely the reason why the Landig corporation begins to develop an in-house meat mincing and sausage filler series in 1995 with the support of various partners. This series especially attracts hunters and hobby butchers, as well as small butcher shops. Until this day the products distinguish themselves from others by their robust quality, smooth operation and reliability.

VACUUM SEALERS
Food packaging is the step that follows cooling and food processing. Therefore Manfred Landig decides to establish the brand “Lava” (Lava = Landig vacuum packaging), together with his sons Aaron and Christian Landig. With the help of sophisticated engineering as well as a robust, but handy housing the products triumph on the market. This is how over the years, the small family company from Lake Constance becomes one of the leading vacuumsealer manufacturers in Europe.

SOUS-VIDE DEVICES
Low-temperature cooking are the magic words when it comes to intense flavor. The use of this particular method enables cooking various foods to perfection, excluding the risk of overcooking them, and without entailing any loss in quality or mass. As a result, a full, a saturated natural taste remains. Landig & Lava notice this trend movement in private kitchens and in the gastronomy sector in it’s early beginnings, and develop their own sousvid devices line under the brand name “Lavide” (Lavide = Landig sousvid).

DRYAGER™
The perpetual desire to improve the taste of foods and particularly meat by means of sophisticated refrigeration and storage solutions became a family tradition. With the help of a food lab and two butchers, the sons Aaron and Christian Landig undertake their first attempts at building a dry aged meat fridge prototype in 2013. It is the foundation for the DRYAGER™ meat aging cabinets, we know today – unique worldwide, protected by patents and 5 utility models.
